Professional and Technical Experience

Early experience (1972-1974) gained in the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Planning as an Assistant Technical Officer and was involved in general development control and layout design for Government Residential Estates in Ojota, Ogudu, Ikorodu and Victoria Island. Worked as a Town Planner in the Ministry of Lands and Housing Oyo State during National Youth Services period 1977/78. Involved in the review of Master Plans for Ilesha, Ile-Ife, Oyo, Ogbomosho and Ajoda New Town.

 

Between 1978 and 1980 worked as a Town Planner with Enplan Group rising  to become the Acting Head of the Planning Division. Was directly responsible for the Master Plan studies for projects involving planning and design of Adeola Odeku Commercial/Residential Scheme, feasibility study of hotel of University of Ilorin and hotel facility in Akure, Master Plan for Suleja and Awka- Amawbia and design of residential layouts for Federal Housing Programme in Niger State.

 

Joined Plurtran as Executive Director and was involved in the preparation of the Master Plans for Kumo, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Ngala Agriculture Training Centre for Lake Chad Basin Commission. Others include layout design for Federal Housing Progammes in Epe and Badagry, Federal Government site and services programme layout for Suberu Oje and Environmental Impact Assessment in both Ogun and Lagos States. He was a consultant to some other planning firms and was involved in the preparation of the Master Plan for Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye; and Ondo State University Ado-Ekiti. He led the team that prepared the Master Plan for the following licensed private Universities amongst others

He is a seasoned academician and practitioner and has published books and papers in international and national journals in and outside the town planning field.

 

Mr. Kadiri had held various positions in the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) including being National Secretary (1978-80), Chairman of various committees including the Education Committee. The immediate Past National President of the NITP, the Past President, Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON) and Ogun State chairman, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN). He also served as the Chairman, Ogun State Chapter of the Institute (NITP) between 1996 to 1998 and as Rector for two terms, at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta (1998 – 2006).        Mr. Kadiri had also served as the Chairman of African Planning Association.
